{"id":1634,"date":"2014-07-25T11:58:59","date_gmt":"2014-07-25T11:58:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unopa.ro\/en\/despre\/misiune-unopa\/"},"modified":"2019-06-19T11:47:19","modified_gmt":"2019-06-19T09:47:19","slug":"misiune-unopa","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/unopa.ro\/en\/despre\/misiune-unopa\/","title":{"rendered":"Mission, Vision, Values"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"page_title\" style=\"color: #da251c;\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"page_text\" style=\"color: #545454;\">\n<p>It is the only federation in Romania formed by organizations of persons affected by HIV\/AIDS, focusing on advocacy for promoting and protecting the rights of people infected and affected by HIV\/AIDS in Romania.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2000 until present day, UNOPA defended and promoted the rights of HIV infected children, young people and adults and the rights of their families.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>UNOPA fought for:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Access to free antiretroviral treatment continuously and non-discriminatory;<\/li>\n<li>Equal access to medical services;<\/li>\n<li>An adequate social system to the needs of people infected \/ affected by HIV\/AIDS and the appropriate psychosocial support;<\/li>\n<li>The right to nondiscrimination and social inclusion<\/li>\n<li>The right to education and socio-professional integration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>UNOPA is a national voice for (Target Group of UNOPA activities):<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All PLWHA in Romania;<\/li>\n<li>The families affected by HIV\/AIDS in Romania;<\/li>\n<li>The institutions or organizations that provide services for the PLWHA in Romania;<\/li>\n<li>The specialists who work with PLWHA;<\/li>\n<li>The PLWHA member organizations;<\/li>\n<li>The community, the educational system, the employers in Romania.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>UNOPA is a national voice through (Activities):<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Promoter activity and Vice-president in the National Commission for Surveillance, Control and Prevention of the HIV\/AIDS Infection Cases<\/li>\n<li>Organizing press conferences, seminars, working meetings;<\/li>\n<li>Organizing\/ participating at public campaigns, protests, open letters, Call for Solidarity, manifest, press releases<\/li>\n<li>Organizing exhibitions, shows and specific events<\/li>\n<li>Publications (Monitoring reports, research reports, articles, Positive magazine)<\/li>\n<li>Representation in court<\/li>\n<li>Organizing campaigns to prevent transmission of HIV infection<\/li>\n<li>Organizing campaigns to prevent discrimination of people living with HIV\/AIDS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>UNOPA runs lobby and advocacy activities for: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>promoting and protecting the rights of people infected and affected by HIV\/AIDS<\/li>\n<li>influencing public policies in Romania in order to adapt to the needs of people living with HIV in Romania<\/li>\n<li>quality public services, health and social<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>UNOPA is founding member and supports the activity of the Coalition of Organizations of Patients with Chronic Diseases in Romania, in the direction of building a unified voice for all patients in Romania, a partner in dialogue and consultation with authorities in order to develop policies and national health programs.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Principles of intervention:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><u>Rights (universal and specific) &#8211; tools to reduce the physical and social vulnerability of PLWHA, to reduce HIV transmission and impact:<\/u><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support for leaders of children, youth and adults living with HIV\/AIDS at all levels of response to HIV\/AIDS<\/li>\n<li>Support for institutional development of member organizations and the federation as a network<\/li>\n<li>Support for social services offered by member organizations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>VISION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A world where HIV infection is under control and HIV-positive people are equal members of a society that does not discriminate against them.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MISSON<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>UNOPA&#8217;s mission is to promote and defend the rights of\u00a0people living with and affected by HIV in\u00a0 Romania.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BASIC VALUES<\/p>\n<p>We constantly fight for:<br \/>\n&#8211; The right to adequate social protection<br \/>\n&#8211; The right to education and socio-professional integration<br \/>\n&#8211; Equal access to services and healthcare<br \/>\n&#8211; Access to continuous, free and non-discriminatory antiretroviral therapy<\/p>\n<p>The values we believe in are:<br \/>\n&#8211;
